This Lightweight Power Drive Unit (LPDU)
is recognized as one of the most reliable PDU’s used in the cargo market
today.
The LPDU
consists of a drive wheel assembly attached within a hinge arm that is
connected to the cover assembly. The LPDU controls the movement of the
cargo forward and aft in the main cargo compartment of the B747. The LPDU
also holds the movement of cargo in the aircraft when the brake in the
motor is engaged.
